October 2026 at Kanakaa ‘tsninom (All Friends Place)
The Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary (AFCC) is pleased to share the October 2026 calendar for the Elder’s Drop-In Centre, also known as Kanakaa ‘tsninom or All Friends Place. We are located at 4630 16th Ave NW.
Please sign in at the Elder’s Centre upon arrival. This allows us to do our best to meet your needs as a highly valued community member.
Hours of Operation:
- Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Fridays: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Wednesdays: Closed
- Please note: The centre is also closed on Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving, and Friday, October 30th.
October Highlights & Special Events:
- Native Rag Doll Workshop Series (RSVP Required): Join us for a workshop series on Thursday, October 15 (Pt 1), Tuesday, October 20 (Pt 2). Space is strictly limited to 10 people per class.
- Thanksgiving Feast: Join us on Thursday, October 8 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
- Halloween Bingo Goodbye Party: Celebrate with us on Thursday, October 29 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Weekly Favourites & Daily Activities:
Join us for Cooking class, Story Telling, Tea Party, and our Friday Coffee, Tea & Bannock. Afternoon programs run from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
- Mondays: Storytelling on October 5, Sweating to the Pow Wow on October 19, and Cooking Class on October 26.
- Tuesdays: Turkey Lanterns on October 6, Dream Catcher on October 13, Native Rag Doll Making Pt 2 on October 20, and Halloween Place Matt on October 27.
- Thursdays: “Not Alone Tea Party” on October 1, Thanksgiving Feast on October 8, Native Rag Doll Making Pt 1 on October 15, Hair & Clothes for Ragdoll on October 22, and Halloween Bingo Good Bye Party on October 29.
- Fridays: Coffee, Tea & Bannock runs every Friday morning from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM (October 2, 9, 16, and 23).
