Oki! This January, let’s come together for warmth, food, and friendship.
Winter can be a difficult time for many, and isolation is a heavy burden to carry alone. That is why the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary (AFCC) is proud to host Medicine for the Mind, a special community gathering focused on connection and resilience.
In support of Bell Let’s Talk Day, to lift your spirits and share a meal with us.
What to Expect at Medicine for the Mind Food is more than just sustenance; it is a way to heal and connect. Guests will be treated to a traditional lunch of hot soup and fresh bannock catered by a local Indigenous vendor.
Following the meal, we will gather for an Elder-led “Circle of Strength.” This is a safe, inclusive space to share stories of resilience, support one another, and remind our relatives that they are never alone. By participating in Medicine for the Mind, you are helping to break the silence around mental health and building a stronger community circle.
