AFCC June 2026 Outreach Calendar: Important Updates & Events
Welcome to June! The Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary (AFCC) has released our Outreach Calendar for June 2026. Below you will find our regular programming schedule, important service updates, and special community events happening this month.
General Information & Hours
Our Outreach Services are located at 1944 10 Ave SW Calgary, AB.
- Standard Hours: We are open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- June 4 Closure: The Outreach office closes at 12:00 PM on the first Thursday of every month, which falls on June 4th.
- June 23 Closure: The Outreach office will be fully closed on Tuesday, June 23rd.
June Special Events
- Day of Friendship (June 5th, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM): Join us for an annual celebration honouring the community connections, culturally rich programs, and vital services that Friendship Centres provide to urban Indigenous peoples across the country. We will have hot dogs, cake, and coffee while supplies last!
- Traditional Arts & Culture Showcase (June 5th, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM): This is a free event taking place at Heritage Park.
- Walk for Reconciliation (June 21st, 9:00 AM): Walk with us from the Harry Hays Building to The Confluence. A meal will be provided for the first 500 participants.
Food Support Services
- Daily: Snack bags are available daily.
- Tuesdays: Food Hampers are available at 1:00 PM.
- Thursdays: Join us for Soup Day starting at 9:00 AM.
- Fridays: Join us for Hot Dog Friday starting at 9:00 AM.
- Please note: Snacks, food hampers, soup, and hot dogs are available for as long as our daily supply lasts.
Status Card Clinic Updates
- Service Pauses: Status Card services are paused on June 5, 8, 12, and 26.
- Weekly Availability: Status Card service is not available on Thursdays of each month.
- Navigation Support: AFCC is at the Salvation Army Nav Centre Monday through Friday to support with system navigation and Status Cards.
Offsite Encampment & Outreach Support
- Wednesdays: Our Encampment Support and Transition Program (ESTP) team is located at the Mustard Seed 102 Day Space from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
- Thursdays: Our Outreach team is at Central United Church from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM for Indigenous Wellness Day. The ESTP team is also at Central United Church from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
