AFCC Board of Directors Election: A New Chapter Begins

Today marked an incredible day for the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary (AFCC), as our members participated in a vital democratic process to complete the AFCC Board of Directors Election. This successful election is a testament to the community wisdom and active participation that guides our work, ensuring the AFCC remains a resilient, member-driven urban Indigenous hub.

We extend our deepest gratitude for the participation of all our members, staff, and partners who came together to support the Centre’s next chapter. This commitment to self-governance empowers us to better serve the community.

The Power of Member Democracy

This AFCC Board of Directors Election demonstrates the core principle of every Friendship Centre: that we are governed by the members we serve. With strong, newly elected leadership, unity, and cultural pride, we know we have the foundation to grow, heal, and serve our community even better. This process ensures accountability and transparency to the urban Indigenous community we are mandated to support.
