Indigenous Hub October Calendar is Here!
Hello, friends! We are happy to share the Indigenous Hub October Calendar. This month’s calendar is a wonderful way to see the impact we’re making and learn more about our community’s home. From our regular weekly programs to special celebrations for Thanksgiving and Halloween, there’s always an opportunity to connect and learn. Our monthly schedule is packed with ways to come together and find kinship.
What We Do
The Indigenous Hub is also known as “iitaohkanitsini’kotsiiyio’p,” which means “a place of conversation”. We are a home for all Indigenous people in the urban environment—a place to heal, to gather, and to belong. We believe in a human-first approach, where true stability comes from a place of safety, dignity, and the feeling of home. The work we do is only possible through collaboration with our partners, such as the NAFC, which you can learn more about on their website. We are proud to be a part of a national movement dedicated to uplifting our people.

October Programs & Events
We also have a full schedule of events to look forward to:

Weekly Programs: Join us for Smudge with Us, Food Hampers, Soup Day, Smudge Vow Virtual, and our classic Hot Dog Friday. These are pillars of our community, offering consistent support and connection each week.

Thanksgiving: The Indigenous Hub will be closed on October 13th for Thanksgiving in Canada, allowing our staff and community to spend time with their families. We hope you have a safe and beautiful day of thanks.

Traditional Owl Dance: Join us for a special evening of singing, dancing, and stories on October 16th. This event is a great opportunity to relax and visit with friends, both old and new.

Halloween: We will celebrate with a Hot Dog Friday and other activities on October 31st. It’s a fun and festive way to end the month together.
