The Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary (AFCC) is incredibly proud and deeply honoured to have received the 2024 Calgary Award for Community Advocate – Organization! This prestigious recognition celebrates organizations demonstrating outstanding advocacy and dedicated service within the Calgary community. We are especially humbled as it is noted we are the first Indigenous organization to receive this distinction.

Our CEO, Shane Gauthier, had the privilege of accepting the award on behalf of AFCC. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Krista White Pup for offering the Opening Prayer at the ceremony. A huge thank you also goes to our dedicated AFCC Board members and Staff who attended and cheered us on – this wonderful achievement is a testament to our collective efforts.

We all should be so proud! Congratulations to all the other deserving winners and nominees at the 2024 Calgary Awards.
