AFCC Indigenous Warming Centre Now Open ❄️

Providing a safe, warm space for our relatives.

The Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary (AFCC) is responding to the urgent needs of our community this winter. We are pleased to announce that our Indigenous Warming Centre is now open below Kanakaa’tsinom (Elders Drop-In Centre).

As temperatures drop, we are opening our doors to offer warmth, food, and kinship. This space is open to all community members, with a specific focus on supporting our Indigenous unhoused relatives.

Services Available

Come in from the cold and access:

  • Warm Drinks: Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

  • 🥣 Hot Food: Porridge served in the mornings & Soup available in the afternoons.

  • 🧤 Winter Essentials: Access to hats, mitts, and warm clothing.

  • ❤️ Cultural Connection: A space for support, safety, and community.

The AFCC Indigenous Warming Centre is now open for Winter 2025 at 4628 16 Ave NW (Below the Elders’ Centre), providing a safe space, food, and cultural connection.
