Honouring the Bonds: A Cultural Reconnection Program for Young Families🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

September 6

AFCC Presents “Honouring the Bonds,” a unique program designed to empower Indigenous families on their journey of cultural reconnection. While this program is created to center the experiences of Indigenous families, we warmly welcome all families who wish to learn and participate with an open heart and a desire to connect with Indigenous culture.

What to Expect from the Program

“Honouring the Bonds” is an immersive experience that strengthens the ties between parents, children, and their heritage. Through engaging activities, workshops, and ceremonies, you will:

  • Explore traditional teachings: Learn about ancestral wisdom and values that have been passed down through generations.
  • Participate in traditional ceremonies: Experience the beauty and significance of cultural practices in a safe and respectful environment.
  • Connect with Elders: Gain invaluable insights and guidance from experienced cultural leaders who are passionate about sharing their knowledge.
  • Strengthen family bonds: Create lasting memories with your children and build a strong foundation of cultural identity for future generations.

This program is more than a series of events; it’s a supportive community for families walking a similar path. It addresses the need for connection in an urban environment and provides a vital link to the knowledge keepers and practices that define us.
