Notice: Elders Centre Closed for National Indigenous Peoples Day

June 20

A friendly reminder to our community that the Kanakaa’tsinom Elder’s Drop-In Centre will be closed to the public on Friday, June 20th, 2025, in observance of National Indigenous Peoples Day.

National Indigenous Peoples Day is on June 21st, and it is a time for celebration, reflection, and community. This closure allows our staff and community members to prepare for and participate in the various events happening throughout the city to honour this important day.

We encourage everyone to take this time to celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

Please note that following this observance and the weekend, the Centre will also be closed on Monday, June 23rd, and Tuesday, June 24th, for a previously scheduled administrative closure. Regular programming will resume on Thursday, June 26th.
