All community members are warmly invited to the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary’s (AFCC) 2nd Annual MMEIP (Murdered Missing Exploited Indigenous Peoples) Red Dress Traditional Powwow on Saturday, May 24, 2025!
This significant cultural event is a vital gathering dedicated to honouring the lives and spirits of MMEIP, raising awareness of this ongoing crisis, and supporting healing and empowerment within families and communities.
- Location: The Big Four Roadhouse, 1801 Big Four Trail SE, Calgary, AB.
- Time: Doors Open at 12:00 PM | Grand Entry at 1:00 PM | Event Concludes at 5:00 PM.
Experience a day of profound cultural significance:
- Witness the powerful Grand Entry at 1:00 PM.
- Enjoy captivating performances from our Host Drum (Blackfoot Drummers) and esteemed Invited Drum Groups.
- A special Honour Song and Dance for MMIWG2SBM will be featured (families are welcome to bring photos of loved ones).
- Explore a vibrant Indigenous artisan market and vendor tables.
- Concessions will be available, with food vouchers for the first 800 attendees.
- On-site security will be present.
Admission is free, and all are welcome to join this inclusive and respectful gathering. No registration is required for dancers.
