Elder’s Centre Closure (June 23-25)

June 23 - June 24

This page provides an important AFCC Elders Centre closure notice for the week of June 23rd, 2025. To help our community members plan their visits, please be aware of the following temporary changes to our schedule at the Kanakaa’tsinom Elder’s Drop-In Centre.

Details of the June 23-25 Closure

The centre will be closed for three consecutive days for a combination of special and regular reasons:

  • Monday, June 23rd & Tuesday, June 24th: Closed for special administrative and organizational purposes.
  • Wednesday, June 25th: Closed for our regular weekly planning day.

This dedicated time is essential for our team to focus on program development, plan future events, and perform necessary administrative tasks. This ensures that when our doors are open, we can provide you with the most engaging, supportive, and well-organized experience possible.

Planning Your Visit

We understand that our centre is a vital hub for many. That’s why we provide this advance AFCC Elders Centre closure notice – to minimize any inconvenience for our cherished community members. We always recommend checking our online calendar or calling ahead if you are travelling a long distance. You can always find the latest updates on our main Elder’s Centre page.

We are excited to welcome everyone back when we reopen on Thursday, June 26th, for our big Community Feast! It will be a wonderful time to reconnect.
