Planning your visit to the Kanakaa’tsinom Elder’s Drop-In Centre? Finding the correct AFCC Elder Centre hours is the first step to joining our vibrant community. To help you plan, please note that while we are open most weekdays, the centre is closed to the public every Wednesday.
Why We’re Closed on Wednesdays
This dedicated day of closure is essential for our team to best serve you. It allows us to focus on vital background tasks, including deep cleaning, program development, and planning the special events you love, like our monthly feasts and cultural workshops. This preparation ensures that when our doors are open, we can provide you with the most engaging, supportive, and well-organized experience possible. Our commitment is to the quality and care of our valued Elders, and this scheduled day is crucial to upholding that standard.
Our Weekly Open Hours
We are always excited to welcome you during the regular AFCC Elder Centre hours. Please feel free to join us for coffee, programs, or simple social connection during the following times:
Location: Kanakaa’tsinom “All Friends Place”, 4630 16th Ave NW Calgary, AB
*Note on Saturday Openings: Please be aware that on Saturdays, the Centre is not open for general drop-in services. The space is exclusively open for young families registered in our “Honouring the Bonds” program.
Plan Your Visit
Before you visit, we always recommend checking our full Elder’s Centre events calendar to see what specific activities are happening on any given day. From BINGO to craft workshops, there is always something happening at the centre.
