Maintenance Supervisor, Whitecourt
Description

The maintenance supervisor is an Electrical/Instrumentation Journeyman with previous supervisor experience in a maintenance environment. The Supervisor must have a continual focus on safety, cost control and client satisfaction when performing the duties of this position, as well as have a history of producing quality work with attention to detail in order to meet and exceed client needs.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing the daily site activities for all 3rd party contractors on the Company’s behalf.
  • Responsible for supervising and supporting Tarpon’s electrical and instrumentation maintenance crews including job scope, material planning and quality planning.
  • Ensures that the execution of work done on site is compliant with Tarpon and Chevron’s HSE policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that all PJHA’s, THA’s and QAQC documentation is completed using the appropriate documentation where applicable.
  • Actively participate in the morning meetings and provide insight when required.
  • Liaise with planners to understand job scope and crew expectations.
  • Report any and all safety, quality and crew concerns/infractions to Tarpon management and participate in appropriate corrective actions.
  • Performs worksite inspections on crews working onsite.
  • Works with 3rd party contractors/vendors to ensure they have completed monthly PJHA, SWA and mileage counts.
  • Ensures that all 3rd party contractors/vendors daily work tickets are completed and sent to the appropriate approvers.
  • Recommends and implements time saving measures in scheduling work and methods for accomplishing outcomes more efficiently.
  • Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Supervises the installation, examination, replacement or repairs of electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Supervises the installation, examination, replacement or repairs generators, alternators and industrial storage batteries.
  • Oversees the preventive maintenance inspections and testing of various electrical systems (including power distribution equipment).
  • Oversees the repairs of electrical failures and replacement of parts where production time is frequently affected.
  • Oversees the correction of wiring and connections on machinery controls where incorrect applications could cause damage and hazardous conditions.
  • Supervises and implements preventive maintenance programs and maintains maintenance records.
  • Acts in a manner consistent with Tarpon’s core values and according to Tarpon’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethical Behaviour.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician or Instrumentation Certificate.
  • Experience working in a maintenance environment.
  • Must have a high level of standard for safety and quality.
  • Must be highly dependable, reliable and professional.
  • Must have a knowledge of and ability to interpret the Canadian Electric Code.
  • Must be proficient in fundamentals of lockout/tagout.
  • Possess high degree of initiative, creativity, communication skills, self-supervision, and respect for safety requirements.
  • Must be a team player and work closely with maintenance, production, engineering and outside services.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule – shift work, overtime and weekends and schedule changes are routine and required aspects of the position.
  • Must understand P&ID’s.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Must have valid class 5 drivers’ licence.
  • Must have own transportation as most locations are not accessible with public transportation
