Gasfitter / Pipefitter - Red Deer, Alberta
Description

Tarpon is looking for a Pipefitter / Gasfitter A Class to join our team in Red Deer, Alberta! The pipefitter is responsible for maintenance, installation and repair of piping systems

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Measuring and selecting type and size of pipe and related materials according to drawings and job specifications.
  • Assemble and install a variety of valves and fittings,threading and tubing. • Secure pipe to structures with clamps, brackets or hangers.
  • Maintains all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Responsible for completing Project/Job QA/QC documentation.
  • Acts in a manner consistent with Tarpon’s core values and according to Tarpon’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethical Behaviour.
  • Complies with the standards and procedures of Tarpon’s health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications
  • Valid Red Seal Journeyperson Pipefitters certification or Completion of Gasfitter (A) Trade Certified Program.
  • Previous experience in an industrial oil and gas environment preferred.
  • First Aid and H2S certifications required
  • Preference given to those with related post-secondary education.
  • Proven ability to work well with a team is essential

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Exposure to outside elements.
  • Must have CSA approved safety boots.
  • Must have a valid class 5 drivers license.
  • Must have own transportation as most locations are not accessible by public transportation.
